  • The City of Cape Coral has a Residential Rental Property Registration Ordinance in place.
  • All residential structures with four units or fewer that are leased or rented must be registered.
  • There is a one-time registration fee of $35.
  • Rental properties owned by federal, state, or local housing programs, HUD, hotels & motels, and community residential facilities licensed and inspected by the state of Florida (that do not include owner-occupied units) are exempt from registration.
  • Failure to register is a violation of City Ordinance and will subject the owner to code enforcement procedures.
  • There is a Rental Registration Brochure available for more information and details required to register.
  • There is a Rental Registration Application that needs to be filled out.
